Acupuncture

Acupuncture, a traditional Chinese medicine practice, involves a complex diagnostic process used to determine the root cause of disease to restore balance and health to the body, mind, and spirit. Acupuncture can be used to treat:

-Pain Management
-Stress and Anxiety
-Digestive Disorders
-Respiratory Conditions
-Sleep Disorders
-Women's Health Concerns (infertility, PCOS, menopause)
-Mental Health
-Immune System Support

Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese Medical technique that uses fine needles (the width of a human hair) which are inserted into various points unique to your symptoms and internal imbalances. The acupuncture points are chosen based on a patient’s individualized pattern and constitution, which are carefully measured by physical parameters and diagnostic patterns determined during initial inquiry. Acupuncture is known to work on an immune-endocrine-neurologic axis by promoting blood flow, reducing inflammation, and decreasing pain. This ultimately puts your body in a state of self healing.

At Be Your Kind, our licensed acupuncturist focuses on the underlying cause of imbalance that creates disease and disruptions rather soley addressing symptoms.

FAQ's

Can I receive acupuncture while I am pregnant or nursing?

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists endorses the application of acupuncture, acupressure, and ginger for managing nausea and vomiting during pregnancy, alongside acupuncture and mind-body practices for broader health benefits. Acupuncture is also advocated for alleviating various conditions throughout pregnancy and the postpartum period. It's crucial to inform our acupuncturist about your pregnancy, as certain acupuncture points should be avoided. We strongly advocate for acupuncture treatments in the first trimester to support embryo development, reduce miscarriage risks, and tackle any emerging symptoms.

Are acupuncture treatments painful?

Acupuncture treatments should not be painful. Our goal is to provide relaxation and comfort during the duration of your procedure. Patients often fall asleep while on the table.
